2008 Social Justice Summit

Reclaiming SOUL!
"Remember something ancient. Imagine something new."
March 7 – 9, 2008
Humboldt State University

Social Justice Summit 2008 LogoHSU’s MultiCultural Center’s (MCC) annual Diversity Conference has evolved into the 2008 Social Justice Summit (SJS), and our community is very excited about the change.

The title and theme of the 2008 Social Justice Summit is Reclaiming SOUL! "Remember something ancient. Imagine something new." (The quote is from the award-winning film, Follow Me Home, written and directed by Peter Bratt.) There is great room for interpretation and innovation with this title, and we welcome your thoughts and ideas.

We have a vision to utilize the creativity and activism of artists, musicians, songwriters, storytellers, actors, and writers as they reclaim their language, their art, their stories and histories, their voices and their images – as they Reclaim SOUL! We also want to bring forth information about communities – their struggles, successes, survival and strengths.
