Woman Accosted

On Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at approximately 7:30 pm, a female walking in the area of Siemens Hall (near the HSU Library) was grabbed by an unknown male who came out of the bushes. The female was able to get free and flee. She was not injured. The suspect's description is limited: male, in his 30s, wearing "raggedy" clothes. Anyone who may have information or observations about this incident is encouraged to contact the University Police Department.

Remember to immediately report any criminal or suspicious activities you observe on the campus to the University Police Department. We encourage all members of the HSU community to become familiar with the red-button emergency telephones throughout the campus, usually marked by a blue light. Emergency situations may also be reported by dialing 911 on any campus or pay phone.

UPD recommends walking with others and staying in the well-lighted and well-traveled areas. The University Police Department has a Safety Escort Service. If you need a Safety Escort from one location on campus to another location on campus, call UPD at 826-5555.
