Sexual Assault Reported Near Library

On Tuesday evening 04/04/06 a female student reported that she had been attacked by an unknown male suspect on the west end of Laurel Dr near the staircase leading to LK Wood Blvd. The victim reported that at about 7:30 or 7:40 PM, the suspect approached her, brandished a knife, forced her into her parked silver Saturn 4-door sedan, and sexually assaulted her. The suspect is described as a white male adult, age unknown, 6'0" tall, slender build, wearing a ski mask, neoprene gloves and a black and red jacket.

Anyone with information, especially anyone who might have been in the area at the time of the assault, is urged to come forward with observations or information that might assist with the investigation. Information may be provided by phoning UPD at 826-5555, or sent via email to hsupd@humboldt.edu.

All members of the campus community are encouraged to always take reasonable precautions including:

  • Be aware of your surroundings
  • Promptly report suspicious activity; use a blue light phone and push "Help"
  • Use the buddy system when walking around campus, especially in the evening
  • Call UPD at 826-5555 if you need an escort
