Strong-Arm Robbery Near Campus

On 9/24/07 the Arcata Police Department received a report that a strong-arm robbery occurred on LK Wood Blvd north of campus. At about 10:10pm the victim was walking on LK Wood Blvd near Pacific Ct when a male subject approached him, threatened physical harm, and demanded that he hand over personal property. Two other males were following on foot close behind when the robbery occurred and appeared to be involved.

The suspect is described as a white male, adult in his early 20's, 6'2", 200 pounds, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. The other two males were described as wearing dark hooded sweatshirts.

All members of the campus community are encouraged to always take reasonable precautions including:

• Be aware of your surroundings
• Use the buddy system when walking on campus, especially after dark
• Call UPD at 826-5555 if you need an escort on campus
• Report suspicious activity; use a blue light phone and push "Help"
