Mental Health

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides personal and group counseling as well as crisis services for regularly enrolled and IELI students. Counseling/crisis services are available by phone during non-business hours (weekends/evenings).

Discrimination, Harassment, Retaliation and Sexual Misconduct Complaints

HSU's Campus Advocate Team provides 24-hour confidential support for survivors of sexualized violence including stalking, sexual assault, and intimate partner violence.

Academic and Career Advising

Academic and Career Advising Center are academic advisors for freshmen and sophomores in designated majors. Answers questions regarding academic policies and procedures, GE, interpreting your DARS, and major or minor exploration. Provides a host of career-related services, including resume review, assistance in finding internships or part-time jobs and help with graduate school applications.

Academic Dishonesty for policy or tips on confronting academic dishonesty, or to report dishonesty.
Office of Student Rights and Responsibilites 

The Learning Center provides help with difficult courses, study skills, standardized test preparation, reading, math, and writing skills. You can study with a tutor, meet individually with a lab assistant to help keep you on track, and use interactive software programs that strengthen academic and learning skills.

Personal Safety

Safety escorts are available on campus 24/7 from the University Police.

Outdoor courtesy phones are available across campus to directly contact the University Police (look for the blue light).

Safety app Rave Guardian may be downloaded to your phone via the University Police.

An anonymous tip line is available to report anything of concern.

Student and professional staff are available 24/7 via the Office of Housing and Residence Life.

A transportation shuttle is available for students going to the Arcata Transportation Center to depart for/or return from winter break.
