Firefox BrowserSAITS recommends using Mozilla's Firefox 1.5 browser, instead of Internet Explorer (IE), to surf the web safely. Firefox was developed by the original designers of Netscape. Currently, Internet Explorer has a security flaw that has yet to be fixed, so at this time, Firefox 1.5 appears to be the safest browser. Please remember that no browser is completely safe, and always error on the side of caution when opening any and all links and attachments. If you don't have Firefox installed already, you can download it at: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ The first time that Firefox is started, it will prompt you to import your bookmarks and settings from Internet Explorer. It will also prompt you to use the same homepage as IE or you can choose to use Google as your home page. It may also ask you to make it the default browser, do this if you want it to launch automatically when you click on a link in your email. Please don't hesitate to call our office if you need assistance installing Firefox. Happy safe surfing! |
