Nominations are now being accepted for one of Humboldt’s annual outstanding student awards. All faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to nominate qualified candidates.
If you know a student who deserves to be recognized for their outstanding contributions to Humboldt State University, then nominate that individual for an Outstanding Student Award!

Two students will be selected from within the top candidates of the above categories by the awards committee to be awarded Outstanding Students of the Year.

The deadline for receipt of nomination materials is 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009.
Late nominations cannot be accepted. All awards will be presented at Humboldt’s annual student recognition ceremony on Thursday, April 30, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm in the Kate Buchanan Room. For additional information regarding the nomination process, please contact Kay Libolt at extension 3504.
Nominations for the Patricia O. McConkey Award for the Outstanding Graduate Thesis/Project are due on February 27, 2009 and will also be recognized at the awards ceremony. The names of all nominees will be forwarded to WHO’S WHO AMONG STUDENTS IN AMERICAN UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES. This national WHO’S WHO program has honored outstanding campus leaders annually for their scholastic and community achievements. Since 1934, WHO’S WHO has further aims of higher education by rewarding and recognizing individual academic excellence on a national level.
The Webb Student Leadership Endowment is named for retired Vice President of Student Affairs, Edward “Buzz” Webb. The purpose of the fund is to support a variety of activities to promote leadership amongst our students, including such activities as the "Students Who Make a Difference" awards ceremony and the annual student Leadership Conference. Future plans include the creation of a leadership scholarship, the establishment of a Leadership Seminar Series, and leadership events.
