The semester started early for student program directors. They attended a three day training retreat January 16th through 18th, the week prior to the beginning of classes. The retreat prepares directors to take on the many tasks required to properly oversee the management of their programs. They engaged in a service project and participated in workshops that address a variety of program issues. Through informational skits and cooperative games and activities directors learn more about each other’s programs and form a tight knit bond of mutual support for the semester ahead.

Y.E.S. 40th Anniversary

On April 26th Y.E.S. will celebrate a milestone in its history, the 40th anniversary of its inception. Current Y.E.S. members and Y.E.S. alums, community partners and campus and community supporters will be invited to participate in a variety of activities and service projects and attend a dinner celebration at Manila Community Center, the community that benefited from the first service of a Y.E.S. program.

Invitations will be sent out at the end of March and anyone interested in coming will be asked to complete a registration form that will be made available on the Y.E.S. website.

It should be a wonderful time to reconnect with those that hold a soft place in their hearts for Youth Educational Services.
