Juvenile Hall Recreation ProgramProgram Weekly MeetingT 6-7pm Upstairs Y.E.S. Program Directors & Office Hours
Desiree Woods: M 1-2 T 11-12, 2-4 Program MissionVolunteers of JHRP spend time with the youth residents at the Humboldt County Juvenile Hall in Eureka. They are there to provide outside community contact during the regularly scheduled recreation time. The hope is that these young people will recognize that other people really care about them and that this concern will be a positive influence in their lives. ![]() Volunteers at weekly meeting [Photo] Service, Goals & ProjectsVolunteers are available on Wednesday from 7:30-9:00 to listen and interact with these youths in whatever way they can. Basketball, ping-pong, board games, and even arts and crafts are available to offer as outlets to an otherwise restrictive and monotonous routine. Upcoming Events or ActivitiesJHRP is coordinating with volunteers from the Y.E.S. Environmental Education program to develop a garden at the Regional Correctional Facility. Community ContactsMardi Bessellieu from Humboldt County Juvenile Hall has been the person who coordinates contacts with employees at the Hall to schedule service hours provided by the volunteers. |
