September 2018

Dear Students:

I hope you enjoyed your summer break. The Student Affairs Team worked diligently over the summer to provide you with a plethora of programming activities designed to engage, empower and enrich your living and learning experiences at HSU. I am excited to serve HSU in my final year as your Vice President of Student Affairs and I look forward to continuing my work on behalf of all students attending Humboldt State University.

Here are a few things you should know about or do the first few weeks of the fall 2018 semester:

  • The After Library Hours Study Space will open in Nelson Hall East 113 on September 10.  It opens at 10 pm and will stay open until 7:30 am, providing you a study space option after the University Library closes.
  • Student Access Services have relocated to the Campus Events Field ; Veterans Enrollment and Transition Services, Testing Services, and the Student Disability Resource Center.
  • Get in the daily habit of reviewing your HSU email, and your myHumboldt home page, especially “My Announcements” & “To Do List.”  Be aware of  Academic Deadlines
  • Read the Welcome Letter  from the Dean of Students.  Then join the Dean of Students for Lunch  in Nelson Hall East 106 on September 26, 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.  There will be a sandwich bar and plenty of swag.
  • Download the RAVE-GUARDIAN APP .
  • Student Health & Wellbeing Services is excited to announce that a 24-7 Health and Wellbeing Vending Machine has been installed in Nelson Hall East. You will have access to the machine whenever campus is open. The vending machine offers low-cost over-the-counter supplies such as emergency contraception aka “the morning after pill” for $11, as well as cough syrup, cough drops, condoms, tampons, eye drops, bandaids and much more!
  • As soon as possible become familiar with the Wellbeing Map, EVENTS Calendar, Staff/Faculty Directory, Student Directory and the link to resources:
